As you all know, the FUNSAR class starts Oct 20th. With permission from our NASAR instructor, we are planning to do something special the last night of the event, Nov 3rd. The class usually sets up a mock night search the last evening of the training. This year we plan to include the entire team in the event! As the students work through their classes, the rest of the team will set up our field command equipment and prepare just as if it were a real search. We’ll have someone hide our “Rescue Randy” and the command staff will not know where he is. The command staff will start the search, sending out the new students as field teams. As the teams return they will also have a chance to work in the command post receiving individual training on search management.
Currently we plan to conduct the final two days of training at the 4H camp just south of Middlebourne. We will have plenty of food available. The event will run into the late hours of the evening.
I will send out exact times and locations as things get finalized. PLEASE mark your calendar for this event!! EVERYONE is welcome.
