OEM Training Events
March 19th and 20th - Civil Air Patrol’s CERT training, we need as many K9 handlers as we can get to help with this training. Please let me know if you can help. We will also be utilizing the fire extinguisher training system and Penny will be doing the Disaster Psychology class. Let me know if you are interested in helping OR taking this training.
March 26th - Search and Rescue (SAR) training will be at Camp Copperhead. We are planning to do a compass course, map class, knots refresher and pack check. If the weather permits, we will focus on the navigation. If not we will be indoors working with the packs, ropes and maps.
We’ll have a cook out for lunch. We plan to start at 10 am and train until around 5pm. These next 3 trainings will prepare FUNSAR students for the Tech II test. What ever your level of experience, you will benefit from this.
Details ASAP - self-defense class I am planning a very special class for all of our volunteers! I am working with Grand Master Paul Snider, a 10th degree black belt. He is developing a 4 hour self-defense class for our volunteers. This will be held on a Sunday afternoon in mid-April. Everyone’s welcome! (Thanks for the idea Linda!)

May 7th and 8th 2011 - Advanced Search and Rescue (ADSAR) class in Logan. www.nasar.org
April 2nd and 3rd 2011 - ADSAR class is being planned for in Hurricane and the SAR TECH I exam on May 7 and 8th. www.nasar.org
